How much is a antique wood burning stove worth?
Question by novelreader: How much is a antique wood burning stove worth?
My cousin called and wanted to know if I could find any info for the worth of this wood burning stove he has. I couldn’t find any info but I thought I would ask here. It is a a Dixie Belle wood burning stove number 815C, it is made by the Southern Company operative and Foundry Company out of Rome Ga. That’s all the info he has and doesn’t have a date for it. Any ideas on what it might be worth?

If it’s so obscure that you can’t find reference to it anywhere, or others, even of different models or years being sold anywhere as “antiques”, then I suspect it’s not sought after as an antique. But if it’s an iron wood burning stove, and it’s functional, it’s worth the value of a used wood burning stove. Those things were built to last for nearly ever. And if it works, it works.

None, based on the lack of sufficient detail.
Cast iron? Gas, too? Size, Serial number? Accessories? Composition?
Google it. There are 2K places to look

One of the things I do is check out eBay. I did and with the Dixie Belle name got no matches. But under wood stove I go all kinds of matches. The question is is it a stove to heat a room or is it a wood burning cooking stove.
Heaters were 200 and up cooking stoves were 2000 on average.
The other thing you could do is check with http://antiques-help.com/free-online-antique-appraisals
and see what they say.
It is best here to have some picture they could see and as much information as you can give them that way you’ll get the best answer.
Happy hunting.
